Being Inside President Barack Obama's Brain on the decision to strike Syria for the inhumane crimes they have committed

What would it be like to be a fly on the wall in the Whitehouse, better yet what would it be like to be in President Barack Obama's brain?
With the big decision of striking Syria alone without our biggest ally the UK.  I can't imagine what is going through President Barack Obama's brain right now.
Shame on the UK for voting against supporting the USA in bringing this treaty of chemical weapons to normalcy again.  Their parliament is no better than our crooked and cowardly congress.  To turn a blind eye to the terrible and disgusting acts of the Syrian government when it involves the weak and children is in my eyes cowardly.
Thank god that President Barack Obama was able to be re-elected because the alternatives with a Republican President with no experience in making these very difficult decisions concerning foreign affairs would have been disastrous.
Although there will be very large consequences if the decision is to strike Syria.  There would be even bigger consequences in doing nothing and turning a blind eye.  I hope the people in Syria have an uprising and eliminate the President Assad and let them know that these inhumane acts will not be tolerated by the Syrian people.
The people who think we should just stand by and let this happen are what I would call the weak minded and have probably never stood up for anything in their life.
The decision to act will be a very unpopular move, but one that needs to be made.  It will be in the history books after this is all said and done.
The decision will probably be made this weekend as time is of the essence.  It will be interesting to see what countries stand with the USA and what their commitment will be.  I think the terrorists are watching who are the cowards and the ones that don't act will be the ones targeted next.
I'm putting you on notice UK because I guarantee the terrorists already have you on their list after the vote yesterday.

 A Day of Introspection

Sunday was an epiphany day.  I realized I have been looking at things more from a defensive standpoint than a neutral or positive standpoint.  Part of it has been not getting enough sleep and getting up too late.  The other part is letting petty things bother me to a point where it becomes a big distraction and takes me out of the flow of my day.
I think its good for people to take an introspective look at themselves every once in a while.  We probably need to do it even more with all the changes in the economy, the workplace, and our personal lives. 
Playing basketball 3 times a week has really helped get me back in shape and has helped alot with my endurance and clarity to focus.
The time off has also helped me take care of alot of little projects that I've been trying to take care of for several years, but never got around to do them.
My greatest asset is my intellectual curiosity to experiment.  To see what works.  What doesn't work and understand its ok to fail. 
I've been reading about 3 books all at the same with various authors and subjects which has really helped with my writing whether its an email or some type of important document.  It has helped immensely when it comes to clarity and being able to focus.
My latest project is researching colleges for Juliana and see which schools would not only be beneficial for a career after college, but also one that would give her a rich college life experience.

Life's Twists and Turns

Today I am thinking about all the twists and turns my life has taken in the past 8 months. First it was mom being diagnosed with Diabetes II in May. I then had my own personal experience of mixing Claritin D along with Excedrin aspirin with my current medication which lead to a blood pressure of 160/100 one July morning. This lead to a neighbor calling 911 and the Paramedics deciding I needed to go to emergency to be on the safe side.

Now here in August mom was sent to Urgent Care for Jaundice and was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. We now need to decide what type of treatment will work best to fight the cancer. I am still not working so that adds to the current medical crisis in the family.

I am not a religious person, but I do believe in a higher authority and have prayed occasionally. Although I don't consider myself a religious person I do consider myself a spiritual person.

The family right now which consists of 3 sisters, my niece and my brother-in law all have their opinion on what should happen next. I myself am not very versed on medical techniques or terminology so I have left that to the doctors and my sisters.

Its amazing how many people have opinions on this subject and how some are very positive and others very negative. I guess this is just another twist that I'll have to deal with in my life and hopefully we'll make the right decision on how best to fight the this terrible disease.

A Culture of Lie, Cheat, and Steal
One of the real components of our current state in the economy is a culture of lie, cheat, and steal. Over the last several years the culture has been if you want to get ahead you need to lie, cheat, and steal. You don't need to look far to see proof of this statement. Just look at all the hearings in the senate these days: Madoff, Lehman CEO, Auto CEO's, Bank CEO's, Blagojevich, and the steroid era in baseball.

What happend to the philosophy that you give an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. Is that now passe due to the state of the current economy and the culture of our nation? Where have all the so called core values that every corporation has in their mission statement gone. Do they even know what core values mean? Even the radio ads talk about calling in sick so you can go skiing.

Experts say that it was because of the mortgage industry. I say its because of the greed and the new culture of lie, cheat, and steal. The new problem that is about to come to the forefront is the credit card crisis. Banks have found another way to capitalize on this crisis by unknowingly creating all these new ways to charge extra fees on credit cards. The scary part is that there are many more people that have credit cards than people who own homes and have a mortgage.

If the government doesn't step in and regulate these banks for their despicable practices we will soon become the USA of China.

What a World

What a world, we now have a new President-Elect who will be inagaurated on January 20, 2009. The world is changing and we as Americans need to change along with it. Unity is what is going to get us out of this economic crisis so I say to the haters-"Stop trying to divide us". It is Barack's time and the time to make the change is now. We as American's need to band together and get this country back on track. I say if you want to be a hater and divider then we should just leave you behind. All of the world is looking at us as Barack tries to put us back as a world leader. Which will be no easy task since we are in a deep recession and involved in 2 wars.

The Real Indicator the Economy is Moving into a Deep Recession

Although the stock market dropped another 300 plus points today and is now below the 10,000 pt mark. The real story is hearing the loss of 159,000 jobs lost in September and the report will be much worse in October due to the current financial crisis and the freeze on credit.

The sign that the economy is in the tank is that the creation of jobs substantially is dwarfed by the loss of jobs over the last 8 years. With an election year we need to hear our candidates talking about how they are going to create more jobs, not the smear tactics that have been publicized by the media over this weekend. We as Americans want to know how each candidate plans to create jobs to stimulate the economy. Having said that, this election year is more important than any election in past history.

Selecting the wrong candidate can make the Bush Years look like Camelot. Electing the wrong candidate who may drive the economy into a deeper recession and having no idea how to get us out of this mess, that would be the real crime.

No One to Blame but Ourselves

After today’s financial fiasco we have no one to blame, but ourselves. Not being informed and making decisions is no way to go about things. We are running into a war with not only the races, but also the classes. The haves and have-nots. Those who will not be able to prosper the legal way will resort to crime. We may soon see a huge increase in crime because people will not be able to prosper through legal and ethical means.

People will not be able to run their small businesses let alone make payroll. The country and economy is built on these financial foundations. The radicals on both sides are also a cause of making this situation blow up. After listening to Lou Dobbs say the American people won today. Makes me want reach through the TV and give him good right across the face. He will be fine regardless as will many of the very wealthy in America.

This however will affect the middle class more than anyone. It will effect people who are employed by small companies to lose their jobs, due to their employer not able to make payroll. Smaller companies who use payroll services will have difficulty making their payroll if at all. Most small companies if not all rely on loans from their banks in order to make their payrolls every week. To show you it’s a vicious circle payroll companies who rely on borrowed money won’t have any access either.

Since this crisis basically freezes credit it will also affect large companies who rely on huge lines of credit. The other entity that hasn’t gotten as much press on is how it affects the rest of the world. Today this affect the closure of some banks abroad due to America’s financial crisis.

The other effect is how we are viewed by other countries. This is a huge aspect that no one is really focusing on. We are talking from foreign relations to foreign investments in the US being taken out. The American people need to know what’s really going on and how it will dramatically affect the American people. The government needs to put the American people first before politics.
